Ozark Mountain Super
Shifters
2010 Policies and Procedures
- Take your car to the track's tech area
for tech unless informed otherwise.
We cannot have OMSS cars in staging for
time trials that are not teched and
registered with the track!!!
- Pay $50 to secretary-treasure BEFORE
time trials or ASAP. This is for our
points fund and also makes sure we have a
correct car count. Entries 21 and up
will have their $50 added to that race
day's payout.
- Be at the OMSS driver's meeting.
It usually takes place shortly after our
last time trial. At this meeting
drivers will draw for ladder pairings.
If you cannot make the meeting send a
representative for you. If you a re
broke and cannot race let us know!
DO NOT be the cause of a redrawing for the
ladder because of an incorrect car count.
- Get paired up with your first round
opponent to make a smooth transition for
the start of the race. When the
track PA calls for us to go to staging you
should be rolling and ready to go!
Finish conversations in the lanes or
later.
- Bye should line up last. If a
car has broken after the drawing and
before staging lanes are set for first
round, the bye will be inserted into the
ladder where necessary. This
eliminates two single runs and condenses
our program.
- Points are awarded to the driver.
No mid-race car swaps. 100 points
for show-up (if $50 paid), 25 points for
first round (car must stage under own
power -- starter OK -- Note change: engine
does not have to be running after
performing burnout) and 25 points for each
round advanced. Example:
Winner of a 5 round race receives 250
points, runner up gets 225. KCIR
will pay 100 points for Saturday
qualifying attendance in addition to 100
show-up points on Sunday. If your
car is broken, you must stay until first
round and display your car for the fans if
possible. Long story short -- you
can't show up at the track and hook up to
your trailer and leave five minutes later
and get 100 points show-up.
- Rain policy: In the event of a
rain out before completion of first round,
entire race will be rescheduled if
possible. Show-up points will be
awarded for those in attendance. If
first round is completed, event will not
be rescheduled. Payout for first
round losers and winners will be
determined by the board with consideration
to the track's fee. Note:
There is a possibility that if the race is
rained out between first and second round,
first round losers having left might be
slightly overpaid. This will be
adjusted at the next race. If a
rainout occurs on a Saturday night and the
track offers to trace on Sunday and we can
supply enough cars, the race will go on.
In the past this wasn't an option.
for example, if we had twenty cars at
Wichita, and 14 can race Sunday (or
whatever is enough to satisfy the track),
after traveling that far we need to
satisfy the track and earn their payout.
Show-up and payout will be determined by
the board.
- Sponsorship. Cash is the only
sponsorship accepted until the coupon
situation is resolved. Racers
bringing in a $500 sponsorship or larger
are entitled to a 10% return to cover cost
(phone bill, mail, printing, T-shirts) if
they desire. NOTE: Not all racers
take advantage of this. Thanks.
- Board members will serve three years.
Re-election OK. Director is also a
board member. Board members for
2010:
*Jerry McMains (515) 669-4187
(2010) *Jerry Campbell (641) 233-7825
(2011) *Bill Leaf (309) 853-2626
*Ralph Conner (309) 787-1578 *Jim
Harden (309) 343-5508
- Payout can vary. Winner is
usually $600-$700, R.U. $400-$450, on down
to first round loser $75-$100, depending
on sponsorship, etc. Nonmember
payout is covered in rule #19, above.
- Consolation race. When time and
tracks permit, first round losers can pair
up in the lanes behind the first round
winners. A $25 entry will pay a
winner take all purse. We will draw
for a ladder if necessary.
